SYNOPSIS
Davide is an eighteen years old boy. He lives in Torino with his brother, and to earn some money he works in a big car-wash. That’s one of the most important year of his life.
The high-school is at the end: the degree exam has gone pretty well, but now the whole emptiness of summertime is opening like a black-hole in front of him.
He cannot expect money from his family, actually there is not enough for everydays needs (his father got married for the second time, and he got kids from the second marriage; his mixed-up brother can barely support his family).
While his friends are going on holidays by bike, Davide has to be satisfied with country holidays at his uncle house. He leaves for the countryside just with the idea to spend summertime, but – with no intention or awareness – he will burn there the last moments of his teens. It is in the very Polesine, in that vast and beautiful land – where the river Po opens like a fan towards the sea – that Davide will fall in love with Patrizia, a woman older than him.
There he will became also a close friend of Alem, a young barman from Bosnia, a life lover, full of energy and of a secret bitterness in the meantime.
Davide will became a man through the strange meetings and the experiences of that summer, that will mark his soul forever.
Love will cause also a deep sorrow: the friendship with Alem is an adventure that will turn later into a tragedy – a tragedy that they will face with the unconsciousness of the last sparks of their youth.
